Somalia Strengthens Ebola Preparedness Following Confirmed Casein Kenya

Stay calm, stay informed: there is no confirmed Ebola case in Somalia.
Kenya has confirmed an imported case of Bundibugyo virus disease (a type of Ebola) in Nairobi. In response, the Ministry of Health and Human Services, working with the National Institute of Health and partners, is:

  1. stepping up surveillance at points of entry
  2. readying rapid response teams
  3. strengthening laboratory and isolation capacity

Know the signs: sudden fever, severe tiredness, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhoea and unexplained bleeding. Symptoms can appear 2 to 21 days after exposure.

If you feel seriously unwell, especially after travelling to an affected area, seek care promptly and tell health workers where you have been.
