The Public Health Laboratory Department is the national reference laboratory of the National Institute of Health (NIH) Somalia, providing reliable laboratory testing to support disease surveillance, outbreak detection, diagnosis, and emergency response. Through quality-assured services, biosafety standards, and skilled professionals, the department strengthens Somalia’s public health system and protects communities from emerging health threats.
