Call for Abstracts
- NIH is inviting you to participate at its Second Public Health Research Conference to share your research work with the conference participants and learn about their research experiences. The conference offers a unique opportunity for experience sharing and to learn from the valuable lessons generated and to identify innovative solutions to be translated into practice within the Somali health services system. In addition to the specific health sector abstracts, we will also welcome abstracts from other sectors on social determinants of health that have major implications on health.
- Submitted abstracts must be original 500 words.
- The abstracts should be submitted in English
- The presented abstracts should be based on ongoing or completed studies for which the results are readily available and follow a structured track organized into a background of the study indicating the aims and objectives of the study; methods; results and conclusions.
- Abstracts of innovative health system reviews and project reports designed by the health system may also be submitted to the conference
- The conference scientific committee (CSC) will examine the abstracts and establish communication with those submitting the abstracts informing them about the final decision not later than the 15th Day of January 2024
Submission of Abstracts
- The abstracts are to be submitted by email to: phrconference@nih.gov.so with the authors’ names, institutional affiliations, and positions.
- Previously presented abstracts will not be accepted for submission to the conference. However, the same abstract can be presented at a local or regional event and then again at a national meeting,
- The title of the abstract should reflect the context and aims of the study and the scope of the investigation and the goal. Do not use jargon or unfamiliar acronyms.
- The list of authors should be restricted to those individuals who actually did the study, conceived it, designed it, gathered the data, and wrote the draft manuscript. The abstract submitting author must be the lead presenter of the abstract.
- The abstract submission will close on 15 December, 2023
