The National Institute of Health (NIH) is pleased to announce the successful completion of the third day of the training workshop on Enhancing One Health Approach in Emergency Preparedness and Response. The workshop, which is taking place in Mombasa, Kenya, aims to strengthen the capacity of health professionals and stakeholders to prevent, detect and respond to public health threats using a multisectoral and interdisciplinary approach.
The workshop has covered topics such as zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance, biosafety and biosecurity, risk communication and community engagement, and emergency management. The participants have also engaged in practical exercises and simulations to apply the knowledge and skills they have learned. The workshop is expected to enhance the collaboration and coordination among different sectors and disciplines involved in One Health activities.
